Terms of Service

1. The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and the operator of ProofKit ("ProofKit", "we", "us"), reachable at [email protected]. By creating an account or using proof.ittoolbox.app, you agree to them. If you are using ProofKit for a company, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf.

2. The service

ProofKit connects read-only to an Azure subscription you authorize, runs posture checks mapped to CIS Azure Foundations, SOC 2 and common cyber insurance questions, and produces evidence and reports based on what it reads. ProofKit never writes, deletes, or modifies anything in your Azure subscription or Entra tenant.

3. Your account

Keep your password confidential and your account email current. You are responsible for activity under your account, including any Azure credentials you connect. Tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised.

4. Plans and billing

ProofKit offers a Free plan and a Pro plan at $49 per month, billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. You can cancel at any time, and Pro features remain active until the end of the paid period. We do not offer partial-month refunds by default, but if something went wrong, email us and we will make it right. Prices may change with at least 30 days notice.

5. Your data

You own the data you put into ProofKit and the Azure evidence it collects on your behalf. We claim no rights to it beyond what is needed to run the service for you. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use ProofKit to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, upload malicious code, probe or disrupt the service, or attempt to access other customers' data or Azure credentials that are not yours. We may suspend accounts that do.

7. Availability and support

ProofKit is a small, independently run product. We work hard to keep it fast and reliable, but it is provided without an uptime guarantee or service-level agreement. Support is by email at [email protected].

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

ProofKit's checks, scores, and evidence packs are informational. They reflect what was read from Azure at the time of the run and may be incomplete, delayed, or affected by permissions ProofKit was not granted. ProofKit does not guarantee compliance with CIS, SOC 2, any insurer's requirements, or any other standard, and passing a check does not by itself satisfy an audit or an insurance application. Always confirm findings against your own Azure portal and consult a qualified professional before relying on them.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, including any arising from an audit finding, insurance denial, or security incident. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $50 if you paid nothing.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination we will delete your data within a reasonable period, as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If a change is material, we will note it on this page and update the effective date. Continuing to use ProofKit after a change means you accept the new terms.
